Issorya's World

Thoughts..

I have two daughters, one 25 and the other is 22. And they are always talking about weight, too skinny, too fat...and let me tell you one thing, this is so true for all the girls out there. Girls are motivated to lose weight by what they see in ads and on TV. What they don’t know is that most of these pictures are retouched. Actresses, singers, models. Everyone is slim to skinny. Why can’t they be inspired by a normal person? Because they are not constantly bombarded by ads of a normal person! Why can’t women and young girls...

Our LOVE necklace

LOVE...Such a small word, such big meaning... We love our parents, love our kids, pets, friends, neighbors, but when it comes to your other half, what is really the meaning of love? We rarely eat meat at home, so i always try to find vegetarian pasta recipes or sometimes i just replace the meat with a vegetable available in my fridge. This recipe here is a Sicilian recipe, even though my mom is from the north of Italy...

The "HABIBI" Pendant

To Arab speaking people out there, how many times a day do you use this word? To non Arabs i will explain a bit about the HABIBI word. HABIBI's true meaning is "my love". I say true meaning because it is sort of being used very loosely in spoken Arabic. I use it for my kids, my husband, my dad, other people's kids, friends, my dog and so on. Men use it among themselves, with colleagues, the laundry guy, the grocery store guy, you name it! It has become a classic term for everyone  in the Arab world.  I created...
